Daytime requires protection,
a Bach fugue, a Tarantino film,
the poetry gypsy in her red raincoat
dancing electric wordstreams,
anything divorced from time and space,
providing the illusion of infinity
within the solitary second.

(Djam Karet is from an Indonesian concept meaning elastic time ("the hour that stretches") and referring to those moments when one is so completely focused on what one is doing that one is unaware of even the passage of time.)
